Our Aims

Mission Statement

To work alongside individuals to enable them to achieve their potential.

We are based in the community and offer medium/long term care to adults aged between 18-65 years old who have an acquired brain injury or learning difficulties.

We have facilities for both male and female and do not discriminate against race ethnicity, culture, sexuality or religion. Our philosophy and standards of care are based on individual care, which considers the whole person, including their abilities, aspirations and needs. We continually strive to ensure that we work within a framework based on the “Five Accomplishments”.

  • Community Presence by taking positive steps to physically integrate its service users into the local community. Our homes are situated in an ideal location, being in the suburbs of the town Northampton. They are close to a range of local amenities and facilities that are accessed fully by the home and are easily accessible by road, rail and foot
  • Choice by respecting each persons’ individuality and uniqueness and by protecting and actively supporting their individual right to experiencing growing autonomy.
  • Dignity and Respect that will facilitate the individual attaining a valued role within their local community.
  • Community Participation by social integration in culturally valued relationships.
  • Competence by providing the individual with the opportunities and support that will enable them to develop their ability to skilfully perform functional and meaningful activities.

Aims and Objectives

The Richardson Partnership for Care has used its Guiding Principles as the basis for establishing a series of Service Standards, which focus's on offering person-centred care and a high quality of life.

Service Standards

  • Individual Service Users will be valued as people in their own right.
  • Individual Service Users are actively encouraged to develop their abilities to a level appropriate to them.
  • Individual Service Users are facilitated and supported through a needs-led service, which is culturally sensitive.
  • Individual Service Users are actively encouraged and supported in integrating into their local community as appropriate.

These standards are implemented in an environment, which offers emotional support and an atmosphere of acceptance. The organisation acknowledges that in order to maximise an individuals sense of worth, self-value and dignity there is a need for calculated risk taking.

It ensures that where risks are taken it is done within agreed safe limits and takes account of the service user’s abilities and needs as well as the skill levels of staff. To this end both in-house and external training opportunities are regularly offered to all members of the home’s staff team.

Person-centred care, which is responsive to the needs, strengths, and aspirations of each individual, is achieved through an interlocking process of assessment, intervention (including the decision not to intervene), monitoring and review.

The Referral Process

The process begins at the referral stage when an extensive social history and other relevant reports/assessments, e.g. psychological, psychiatric, speech therapy etc are obtained. In addition our own Special Performance Ratings Scale Assessment is carried out. A detailed picture of the individual’s current situation, future aspirations and needs are also considered.
