Richardson Partnership for care - Residential care for people with brain injuries and learning disabilities in the midlands
Staff Training
The homes’ staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened and references are always checked thoroughly including CRB.
During induction all staff are trained in-house by experienced qualified senior staff in the following critical subjects, below are a few key areas of training we provide. A full training schedule is available.
In order to fully embrace the “Five Accomplishments” and reach our own high Service Standards we offer all our employees a commitment to personal training and development.
The Partnership seeks to provide a comprehensive training schedule for both the care and management team, that includes our own internal training programme, which runs on a weekly basis. This includes training in areas such as Brain Injury and related disorders, Managing Challenging Behaviours, Manual Handling, Fire Safety Awareness, Health and Safety Awareness, First Aid in the Workplace, Food Hygiene, Epilepsy and Diabetes Awareness.
Providing regular and varied training has helped complement the care teams experience. Coupled with a high staff ratio, we are able to deliver a quality service to a range of people who have an Acquired Brain Injury or Learning Difficulty.
All staff employed at the Richardson Partnership for Care are trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention, a specially designed programme aimed at managing aggressive behaviour in a safe and positive manner. The Richardson Partnership for Care actively discourage any form of physical intervention as a way of managing aggressive behaviours and this training programme helps to keep such intervention to a minimum.
The home also sends selected staff on external training courses for such topics including Staff Supervision, Personnel, Law.
