Jo Wilkins - Registered Homes Manager

Jo Wilkins

Jo Wilkins joined The Richardson Partnership for Care as Registered Homes Manager at The Coach House in December 2018. She has 20 years’ experience in the neurological sector and is well respected amongst her peers.

Jo is responsible for the day to day running and management of The Coach House. This includes compliance, quality assurance and leading the team of care staff to provide a safe, supportive environment in which to deliver effective brain injury rehabilitation. She is a member of the multi-disciplinary team and works alongside the therapists to help service users to achieve their goals.

Jo is really passionate about working in the field of brain injury and says: “I can’t ever imagine wanting to do anything else. I help people to find a new future for themselves under very difficult circumstances, and I feel privileged to be part of their journey. I often need to be creative in my thinking when looking at the challenges people face, and how they can break them down in order to overcome them.” She adds: “I think it’s important to build a good therapeutic rapport with service users, as well as to be completely honest. I need to manage their expectations so that I can support them to achieve appropriate goals.”

Jo also enjoys the staff development aspect of her role, helping other members of the team to progress. She delivers brain injury training to care staff across the organisation, and is a foundation-level MAPA instructor, providing training in managing actual or potential aggression as part of our regular training regime for all staff.

In her spare time, Jo enjoys watching Northampton Town Football Club as well as local and test cricket. She is interested in politics and current affairs, having previously canvassed local elections. She is a lover of vintage vehicles, train travel and an avid reader of fiction. Jo has twin daughters who she has inspired to embark on careers related to neurology and psychology.
